So I have this script that shows me who hits my web page and where they came from. It can be very revealing if you know what to look for. This blog gets a good many hits but there have been some recently that tell me that I’m not the only one who is pissed off and worried about these stupidly high gas prices. Check out this search that ultimately led to this blog and the articles I wrote about high prices and the common folk.
See? People are worried, real people.

OMG, you know where we are when we look at your site.. And I thought the feds were bad… they might need to call you up about tracking some people down…
Yeah and to think that my script is the basic kind eh? And I don’t pay a service for it! You’d be surprised how much information can be had by website owners who want it. Hrm maybe I should post about that? This is something folks should be aware of all the time they’re connected to the internet. I’m sure you’ve read about people being fired for viewing porn from work? The logs their employers read are kinda like the logs I get.
Just so you know though, sometimes I can see plainly where a user is from (city, state not town building kinda thing!) and other times it may not be known or may not be the correct place. So it’s a crap shoot sometimes, you just have to learn how to read your logs.
